From July, LEDVANCE will also offer versatile, ready-to-install emergency luminaires which will be presented at Light + Building for the first time.
In cases of emergency, lighting can provide orientation and help save lives. Standards and regulations for safety lighting can therefore be found nationally and internationally especially enshrined in occupational health and safety, accident prevention and building law. At Light + Building, as part of its highly successful LED luminaire portfolio, LED lighting provider LEDVANCE will present extremely versatile emergency luminaires for almost all areas of safety lighting. The new products will be available at wholesalers in the summer of 2018.
Adding LED emergency luminaires to its portfolio brings LEDVANCE yet another step closer to becoming a full-range provider, offering luminaires for a wide variety of applications, with proven features, high availability and a good price/performance ratio. Simple planning and installation as well as minimalist design to match the rest of the portfolio make the new stand-alone emergency luminaires even more attractive for installers.
The “Emergency Downlights” are characterized by their high luminous flux of up to 335 lumen and optimized light distribution. As a result, fewer luminaires are required in a building for the prescribed light intensity and uniformity of the emergency lighting. The number of application options that can be covered by the just four different LEDVANCE models is quite remarkable. The round luminaires, in which the battery and driver are integrated, cover the important applications of escape route and anti-panic lighting with their three-hour operating time in case of a power cut. Their lenses have been perfectly adapted to meet safety requirements. As escape route lighting, for example, the downlights provide a uniform, visible light strip on the floor over the entire route. Suitable for build-in or build-on installation, the downlights are available both with a built-in test switch for manual testing and with automatic test equipment (self-test). They all have IP43 type of protection and an IK07 shock resistance rating. The company provides a three-year manufacturer's guarantee on the housing, electronics and LED light sources.
The new portfolio also includes a compact illuminated safety sign with a robust and high-quality aluminum housing. It can be set to three or eight hours of operating time in the event of a power cut, which can be selected by a switch during commissioning. The luminaires can be installed in a variety of ways, and when mounting them on the ceiling you can even do without accessories. With appropriate accessories, the luminaire can be recessed in or suspended from the ceiling, or mounted on the wall. It is characterized by particularly homogeneous illumination and a detection range of 27 meters in accordance with DIN EN1838. It also complies with all the requirements of DIN 4844-1. Each luminaire comes with four different escape signs in accordance with ISO 7010 as well as a white, reflective foil for the back. The luminaires are available as manual testing versions with a test switch, or as self-test versions.
With IP65, the “Emergency Bulkhead” luminaire has the highest type of protection in the new portfolio. The model is suitable for anti-panic and escape route lighting, with a choice of automatic or manual test equipment, and for continuous or standby operation. It can also be turned into a backlit safety sign in just a few simple steps; four self-adhesive escape signs are included. In the self-test model, the operating time can be set to one, three or eight hours during commissioning; the luminaire achieves up to 300 lumen in the one-hour setting.
Beyond the new emergency luminaires portfolio, LEDVANCE also offers its professional customers the option of upgrading a number of luminaires from its portfolio to emergency luminaires. The conversion of LED panel lights, LED downlights and damp-proof luminaires to emergency luminaires is made possible thanks to new, compact emergency lighting components with an integrated emergency lighting driver and a single battery. At LEDVANCE they are already integrated in the luminaires, can be plug-and-play connected, and ensure a constant three watts for three hours of emergency operation. The emergency lighting components are also equipped with automatic test equipment and an LED status display.
The new professional LED luminaires will be launched in the summer under the LEDVANCE brand and will be listed in Relux and Dialux planning software.
