At Light + Building, the world's leading trade fair for lighting and building technology from March 18 to 23 in Frankfurt, LEDVANCE is presenting, among other things, a greatly expanded portfolio of state-of-the-art LED luminaires and innovative product concepts for office applications at its booth B10 in Hall 2.0. Be it for desktop workstations, conference zones, corridors or reception areas – LEDVANCE is a one-stop shop for the right lighting. The new LED luminaires will be available for lighting professionals from wholesalers in the summer.
A lighting system for offices has to comply with numerous standards, directives, laws and guidelines, not to mention health & safety requirements. Key demands include widely glare-free light for screen-based work, uniform distribution of light and adequate illuminance. For building operators, costs are another important consideration of course: the lower the operating and maintenance costs with energy-efficient LED luminaires and smart light management systems, the better.
LED panel in minimalist design for direct and indirect light
The new Direct/Indirect Panel luminaire is ideal for these specific requirements. It delivers 70 percent direct light for the workplace and 30 percent indirect light for basic illumination. The luminaire, which is only one centimeter thick, features sleek high-quality styling with an aluminum frame and rounded edges. This is part of the new “Scale” design concept that LEDVANCE is unveiling for the first time at Light + Building for its professional LED luminaires. The high-quality PMMA microprismatic structure of the Direct/Indirect Panel ensures a Unified Glare Rating less than 19 (UGR<19). The luminaire has a good luminous efficacy of 110 lumen per watt and a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours (L80). The driver is accommodated in the ceiling mount. The luminaire is also available with DALI electronic control gear as an option.
High quality of light and a special look – linear or panel
The high quality of the light produced by the new IndiviLED family of luminaires results from a special optical system consisting of small “light squares”. The fact that each individual LED has its own lens and reflector results in very good anti-glare properties of UGR<19 and an outstanding distribution of light. The large number of optical elements gives the luminaires a special look, and luminous efficacy is also very good at 120 lumen per watt.
The Linear IndiviLED luminaires are slim 1.2 m and 1.5 m surface-mount or suspended luminaires that can be used almost universally and which can even be combined to form a seamless lighting installation. In line with office lighting requirements, they all provide direct light or a mix of direct and indirect light. The square Panel IndiviLED for system dimensions of 600x600 mm and 625x625 mm are suitable for ceiling mounting and therefore as replacements for traditional louver luminaires.
The IndiviLED luminaires will also be available in versions with daylight or presence sensors, with a DALI interface or with emergency lighting functionality.
Downlights for high-quality basic illumination
The new Downlight Comfort units are ideal for basic illumination in offices with their very good anti-glare properties (UGR<19). They are effectively three products in one as the light color can be easily set to 3,000, 4,000 or 5,700 K by the installer on a small slide switch at the back. From the point of view of the wholesaler, this has the benefit of needing to keep only one type of luminaire in stock to cover all three light colors. A quick-connect terminal also saves time during installation. Its IP54 rating means that Downlight Comfort can be used in damp applications such as the canopied entrance areas of office buildings.
Smart product concepts for the office
LEDVANCE is presenting two new product concepts at Light + Building. The Smart Office Sensor with its combined ZigBee 3.0 and DALI interfaces will provide users with a very easy way to control heterogeneous lighting systems that use both standards. Existing sensor-free installations can therefore be upgraded with minimal effort and cost. The sensor detects presence and brightness so it can regulate the light according to demand and therefore help reduce electricity costs.
The second product concept takes the form of an intelligent light switch which has been developed as an easy way to take advantage of the positive biological effects of light particularly in conference rooms and group work areas. The switch automatically adapts the artificial light according to the natural course of daylight. With its intuitive user interface it also allows to manually set different lighting modes to suit individual requirements – for example a mode to support creative work. This approach to human centric lighting shall help boost concentration, for instance.
The new professional LED luminaires will be launched in the summer under the LEDVANCE brand and will be listed in Relux and Dialux planning software.
